🔻Kyodo, Japan news agency, citing a senior Iranian official whose name was not mentioned, wrote that Tehran has proposed that in exchange for a reduction in sanctions, it will reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days.

This news agency writes that the move is part of Tehran’s efforts to resume talks with Washington in order to bring the war to a permanent end.

Kyodo, citing this official, wrote that the proposal has also been approved by the Supreme National Security Council and Mojtaba Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic.

According to this report, mediators have conveyed the proposal to Washington.

The Iranian official said that progress in diplomacy depends on the “seriousness and commitment” of the United States, and that Iran wants indications that the United States is ready to return to talks, halt military operations in the Strait of Hormuz, and lift the blockade of Iran’s ports.
