Jordan's army said its air defense systems intercepted and shot down four missiles fired by the Islamic Republic early Tuesday, the second interception announced in two consecutive days.
According to Jordan's official news agency, citing a military source, shrapnel from the interception fell in several locations and Royal Guard engineering teams from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have been deployed to secure the sites. No reports of casualties have been published.
Early Monday, Jordan's army also announced the interception and destruction of four missiles and said the attack had been successful without casualties or damage.
