He called on the international community to take a firm and deterrent stance against what he called “Iran’s repeated attacks,” and emphasized that the GCC would stand alongside Qatar in all measures to confront this “treacherous behavior” by Iran. 💢 Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said in a statement that the attack on the two Saudi and Qatari tankers is a clear violation of international rules and norms and UN Security Council Resolution 2817. Riyadh called on the Islamic Republic to immediately end any action that threatens regional security, the safety of international shipping, and the security of energy supply, and stressed that Tehran bears full responsibility for these attacks, the damages, and the consequences arising from them. 💢 Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following the attack on the “Al Raqiyat” liquefied natural gas tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, summoned the deputy ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and delivered to him a formal protest note. Doha described the attack as a serious violation of the safety of international shipping, a direct threat to the security of global energy supply, and an apparent breach of international law, and asked Tehran to immediately end actions that threaten regional security and international shipping. 🔴
