🎥 “Ferd Petrosyan”, a researcher, journalist, and senior associate at the Article 18 organization who is active in the field of the rights of religious minorities in Iran, says in an interview with IranWire about moments that are deeply unsettling—moments he has faced in his professional and personal life. He talks about documenting the story of a Zoroastrian woman who, as a child in Yazd, after extensive correspondence, was not allowed to enter a swimming pool. They said that because Muslims were present in that pool, if even a drop of water from her while leaving the pool were to fall, that space would be considered ritually unclean.
Mr. Petrosyan, an Iranian journalist of Armenian descent, has for years researched and written about violations of the rights of believers in religions and sects that are oppressed in Iran. Last year, in cooperation with the Article 18 organization in the UK, he wrote a book about the situation of Christian converts in Iran, which has recently been translated into Persian with the title “Why Do Christian Converts Flee Iran?”.
