🔶 Axios: Washington intends to announce the Hormuz Strait agreement on Wednesday

Axios news website, in a report, said that the United States, Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran have come close to reaching a temporary agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

According to two regional sources and a U.S. official, “Washington intends to announce this agreement on Wednesday.”

Donald Trump had previously said that on Saturday he decided not to carry out, for the time being, his threat to launch a broad bombing campaign against Iran “to provide more time for diplomacy.” However, he warned that if an agreement is not reached soon, he may authorize broad attacks.

In its report, Axios claimed that the agreement that is taking shape “meets some of Iran’s demands for greater control over the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, a level of control that Iran did not have before the war.”
