Ahmed Bakhshesh Ardastani, member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, told ILNA in an interview that the United States may again target another level of officials of the Islamic Republic by keeping Iran preoccupied with the issue of the “Hormuz Strait” and “Kuh-e Kelong.”

At the same time, he deemed a ground attack by the United States on Iran unlikely and said that if such an attack were carried out, it would entail heavy casualties for the United States. Bakhshesh Ardastani also said it is possible that the United States could attack “Kuh-e Kelong” and present it as the end of the war and a unilateral ceasefire.

This member of parliament added that the Islamic Republic and the United States are ultimately compelled to negotiate, because “no war ends without talks.”
