Axios wrote: During Trump’s trip to Ankara, Tel Aviv warned Washington that an Iranian official had talked about an alleged attempt to assassinate the U.S. president while he was in Turkey.
The information led to heightened security measures. Among these actions was moving Trump in an older “Air Force One” (the U.S. presidential aircraft).
However, U.S. officials said the information was based on a single unverified source and did not have any real operational aspect.
Based on information from Israel, an Iranian official had said in a conversation with colleagues that Iran should try to assassinate the U.S. president while he is present in Ankara.
Turkey’s security forces also investigated the claim and announced that they had not found any specific plan to assassinate Trump in Ankara.
