Ukraine’s president said that cooperation between Kyiv and Washington in the field of drones will include building a factory in U.S. soil using Ukrainian technology. Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview published on Friday.
Zelensky called the two countries’ drone agreement “win-win” and said Kyiv wants production lines in the United States. He added that Ukrainian drones can currently operate at a range of more than 3,000 kilometers and that range is expandable.
A White House official said on Friday that Trump and Zelensky will meet in Washington on Tuesday. An informed source said that details of the drone deal have not yet been finalized ahead of the meeting.
The two sides previously agreed that Ukraine would export its drones to the United States for participation in the Pentagon program “Drone Dominance.”
The Drone Dominance program was launched by Pete Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of Defense, in December 2025. Its stated goal is to stockpile more than 200,000 attacking drones by 2027.
