The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), in a statement, wrote that on Wednesday night, U.S. forces attacked about 90 military targets of the Islamic Republic.
According to CENTCOM’s statement, these targets included air defense systems, coastal surveillance equipment, missile and drone storage sites, maritime capabilities, and military logistical infrastructure along Iran’s coastline.
CENTCOM added that the new attacks followed the successful execution of offensive strikes against the Islamic Republic on Tuesday evening.
In those strikes as well, CENTCOM forces targeted about 80 military targets of the Islamic Republic, which included more than 60 small boats of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in order to “impose heavy costs on the Islamic Republic due to [the regime]’s violation of the ceasefire through an attack on three commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.”
CENTCOM stressed that the new strikes further weakened the Islamic Republic’s ability to attack commercial vessels and innocent civilian seafarers in the Strait of Hormuz, and that U.S. forces remain vigilant, have lethal combat capability, and are ready to carry out operations that are ordered by the Commander-in-Chief.
