❌〰 The U.S. Treasury has sanctioned more than 50 people, companies, and ships linked to a global shipping network and the bypassing of the sanctions of Mohammad Hossein Shemkhani, which Washington says supports exports of Iranian oil, container shipping, and the trade in essential goods.
The move targets key financial backers, transportation executives, ship operators, and companies in the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, the Marshall Islands, and other jurisdictions. The Treasury says the network moves both lawful and unlawful cargo, including goods related to the Houthis (Ansarallah), and also helps ship Russian oil products.
The latest actions have brought the total number of people, entities, and ships associated with Shemkhani that have been sanctioned by the United States to more than 200.
