The Telegraph reports that the UK Islamic center still has permission to sponsor visas for skilled workers and religious preachers, despite ongoing investigations into a possible link to the Islamic Republic.

The UK Home Office says the center has not sponsored the entry of any workforce since 2022. The Charity Commission is continuing its investigation into the center’s structure and possible connections.

Critics are calling for an immediate review of the license. The UK Islamic Center rejects any ties to the Iranian government and emphasizes its independence.

The Telegraph also reported that London’s Islamic College and a number of Islamic bookstores have similar permits.

The UK Home Office said it takes the threats posed by the Iranian government seriously and has accelerated the process of reforming laws to ban support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and to increase the powers of the police and intelligence bodies.
