Pentagon spokesperson Sean Par d'Arnell announced that since July 7, nearly 100 U.S. military personnel have been injured at various levels.
In a message on X, he wrote: “Although, as of July 7, 2026, nearly 100 service members have sustained some kind of injury, 96 percent of them have returned to duty. They are determined to take part in operations again. Much of these injuries were also mild concussions.”
Par d'Arnell made these remarks in response to a New York Times report, which claimed that the Pentagon had concealed information related to dozens of injuries of American forces in the war with Iran.
CNN also reported on Monday afternoon that the U.S. military acted with delay in publicly announcing the injuries of its personnel, and said the reason for the delay was the protection of military forces.
