Oman’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports reached nearly 1.2 million tons last month after registering a historical record, which is 10% higher than August of last year.

Company data from the commodity information firm Kpler shows that in the first eight months of this year, Oman has exported a total of more than 8.7 million tons of liquefied natural gas, which is 13% higher than the same period last year.

India is the largest customer for Oman’s LNG and buys three quarters of Oman’s exported liquefied natural gas. After India, China, Japan, and South Korea are the main customers.

Oman is located outside the Strait of Hormuz, and the Islamic Republic’s disruption in this waterway and the Middle East war have not had any impact on this country’s oil exports either.
