Masoud Pezeshkian said the Strait of Hormuz will be opened if the blockade is stopped and if the United States’ attack on Iran ends, and he emphasized that the United States cannot make the Islamic Republic submit by continuing its pressure.
Pezeshkian, on Saturday morning local time, in an interview with the television network “India Today,” said about the continuation of a naval blockade by the United States: “They couldn’t achieve their goals through war, they did this, but we will not stop.”
He added: “Of course, the sea route is not a road and a path that our lives depend on, but even with this method, they will not succeed.”
Pointing to the Iran–Oman agreement, Pezeshkian said that on Monday, the foreign ministers of Arab countries will hold a meeting in Muscat so that the Oman–Iran agreement regarding the shared route in the Strait of Hormuz will be signed in their presence and submitted to the International Maritime Organization.
He said that countries which, according to him, have also been attacked by Iran from their territory will attend this meeting.
Pezeshkian emphasized: “The route through the Strait will be opened, provided that the United States stops its blockade and its aggression toward Iran.”
