🔻 Masoud Pezeshkian met with Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, on the sidelines of the summit of heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

According to IRNA, during this meeting, “the latest status of relations and cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia was reviewed and assessed, and the parties discussed ways to strengthen and expand joint cooperation in various fields.”

The Russian news agency TASS has also reported the meeting, but has not published any details about the content of the talks.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, had said yesterday about Russia’s mediation between Iran and the United States in this meeting:

“The President of Pezeshkian will certainly brief Mr. Putin about what is happening.”
