The Joint Maritime Information Center, on Thursday, 12 Shahrivar, said that attacks and attempts by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to hit or disrupt shipping in the Strait of Hormuz are continuing, and are “severe.” This includes drone flights, targeted monitoring of commercial vessels, and occasional radio contacts with them.
According to this report, commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is still lower than usual, and independent data indicate that the number of ships passing in both directions is in the single digits.
The report also points to the killing of two crew members of the oil tanker “Sider,” who were targeted in an attack on the evening of 9 Shahrivar while passing toward the east through the Strait of Hormuz.
