🔸IRGC: 85 military targets of the United States in Bahrain and Kuwait were hit The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that, in response to the U.S. attacks in the early hours of Wednesday, Tir 17 (July 8), on areas along the coasts of Hormozgan province and Mahshahr, the IRGC’s naval and aerospace forces, in a joint operation, targeted 85 sites of U.S. military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait. According to a public relations statement of the IRGC, these attacks were carried out “with missiles and drones against U.S. military facilities at Salman Port, the Fifth Naval Area of Bahrain, and the Al-Salem air base in Kuwait.” The IRGC also claimed that during the operation, it shot down an American MQ-9 drone that “intended to interfere in the operation.” The statement described the U.S. attacks as a violation of the ceasefire and the “Islamabad understanding,” and said they were the initial response to what it called the “invasion by the U.S. Army.” So far, the United States and the Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region have not confirmed the IRGC’s attacks.
