🔶 Iran war; UN fact-finding committee calls for halt to hostilities

The United Nations’ fact-finding committee, an independent and international body, following the release of a report on people killed and injured among civilians during two U.S. airstrikes in Hormozgan province, called on all parties to the conflict to “halt hostilities and comply with international law.”

In a statement issued on Monday, 14 September (23 Shahrivar), the committee referred to these attacks and stated that, “based on credible reports and information collected,” a U.S. airstrike on 10 Shahrivar targeted a house in Kūhestak city in Hormozgan province; a location where, according to reports, a wedding ceremony was taking place. During the attack, five people, including two children and a woman, were killed and dozens more were injured.

The fact-finding committee also referred to another attack on 8 Mordad on a residential house in Qeshm. According to reports, a man, a woman, and their two-year-old son were killed in the incident, and two children of this family were also injured.
