Iran’s Foreign Ministry has announced that 55 detained Iranians in the United Arab Emirates will be returned to Iran. The ministry has described these individuals as “fishermen,” but among them are also 14 crew members of the sanctioned oil tanker “Aurora,” who had previously been detained on charges of espionage. The identity and status of the other people whom the Islamic Republic’s officials have described as “fishermen” are still unclear.
