The International Organization for Migration, affiliated with the United Nations, issued a statement announcing that since the start of new clashes between the Iran Islamic Republic-backed Houthi rebels and government-supporting forces, at least 46,000 people have been displaced.
In its statement, the organization warned that this figure is increasing at a worrying pace every hour.
The armed clashes between the Houthi rebels and the supporters of Yemen’s legitimate government have resumed since last week.
Reuters, citing sources familiar with the situation in Yemen, reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been directing the military operations of the Houthi rebels under the command of Abdolreza Shaheliy, a commander of the Quds Force.
