Hosein Noushabadi, Director-General of the Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while criticizing the Board of Governors resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency against the Islamic Republic, told Defense Press: “This resolution, which has been approved with a proposal from the United States and three European countries, lacks legal standing and is inconsistent with the Agency’s duties and missions.”

Noushabadi continued: “The claim of the Agency’s lack of access to Iran’s nuclear facilities and the adoption of a resolution to refer the nuclear case to the UN Security Council essentially has no technical or legal substance and is a political action by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany to put pressure on the Islamic Republic, gain concessions, and escape a stalemate that the United States has faced in the region.”

He added: “The Board of Governors has been turned into a tool for misuse by countries that, by attacking nuclear facilities under Iran’s safeguards, have violated the fundamental principles of international law, the UN Charter, and the standards of nuclear safety and security.”
