🔶 Heavy sentence for an Israeli citizen accused of spying for Iran

According to Israeli media, a citizen of this country has been sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison for spying for the Islamic Republic.

The Times of Israel reported on its website on Wednesday, September 16 (25 Shahrivar). It said that the Lod District Court convicted an Israeli citizen named Alexander Granovsky, a resident of Petah Tikva, of “spying, damaging property, and arson on behalf of the Islamic Republic,” sentencing him to 13 and a half years in prison.

As written by this outlet, Granovsky, who is around 30 years old, set fire to nine vehicles in exchange for money from an Iranian handler, wrote anti-government slogans, and monitored the area where Benny Gantz, the former Israeli defense minister, lives. The Central District Attorney’s Office described the verdict as the “harshest punishment” issued so far for activities carried out on behalf of Iran.
