🔶 General Secretary of Germany’s Social Democratic Party: The election result is shocking

In an interview with Germany’s ZDF, Lars Klause Nedorff, the general secretary of Germany’s Social Democratic Party, expressed “concern and surprise” at the strong performance of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the state election in Saxony-Anhalt, and said: “It’s really a shocking result.”

He also said he was pleased that Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD) has been able to maintain its result compared to the previous state election, adding: “Although this is no longer considered a success.”
