🔸Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported “progresses” in negotiations and consultations between Tehran and Muscat without mentioning any details on Sunday, the 4th of Mordad.

🔸After that, the official of the Islamic Republic stated that an Omani delegation that had come to Tehran for talks on managing the Strait of Hormuz left Iran on Saturday evening.

🔸Baghaei explained the negotiations as follows: “On Friday and Saturday, several rounds of talks between Iran and Oman at the level of deputy foreign ministers were held in Tehran, during which the two sides discussed shared principles and operational mechanisms for managing the safe passage of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, while respecting the sovereign rights of the two coastal states.”

🔸The foreign ministry official added that “at present, no change has been made to the situation of traffic in the Strait.”

🔸Following the joint attack by the United States and Israel on Iran in Esfand 1404, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out its ongoing threat to close the Strait of Hormuz—an action that has so far significantly affected the global oil market and has made reopening the Strait of Hormuz one of the most important reasons for U.S. negotiations.
