Bahri Company, Saudi Arabia’s National Shipping Company, announced on Wednesday that two Filipino sailors were killed in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ attack on the vessel “Sader.”

According to the company’s announcement, the incident occurred on 9 Shahrivar and took place as the vessel was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

On Tuesday, the maritime security consultancy Mariscx reported that the massive oil tanker Sader flying the Saudi flag was targeted with unknown projectiles in the northeast of Ras al Khaimah, near the coast of the port of Oman.

Minutes later, the massive Senegal Prosperity oil tanker flying the flag of Liberia was also hit in the east of Ras al Khaimah by three unknown projectiles.

According to the company’s report and Vangard Tek, the projectiles struck the left side, the engine room, and the ballast tank.

In recent months, the IRGC has carried out multiple attacks on vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
