Alí Fállah al-Zubaidi, Iraq’s prime minister, will travel to Tehran on Thursday, 1 Mordad, to meet with officials of the Islamic Republic. This is al-Zubaidi’s first trip to Iran since his appointment to this post.
Haider al-‘Abbudi, the spokesperson for the Iraqi government, said that the focus of talks between the two sides is the “gas file.”
Before traveling to Tehran, al-Zubaidi went to the United States and met with Donald Trump, the President of the United States.
In an interview with The Atlantic magazine, which the official Iraqi news agency reposted, he claimed that in his meeting with the U.S. president, he asked him not to launch a military attack against the Islamic Republic.
