After 250 days of uninterrupted duty at sea without stopping in any port—an achievement that is considered a record—the USS Abraham Lincoln has arrived at the port of Pattaya in Thailand.

Pattaya is one of Thailand’s largest and best-known tourist centers and, with its attractions, draws many tourists from around the world.

The U.S. forces aboard the Abraham Lincoln are scheduled, during the carrier’s 4-day stay, to arrive in Pattaya in shifts up to September 15, to have leisure time and rest. However, specific restrictions have been set for them, and they are barred from going to some parts of the city.

The entry of American forces into the city of Pattaya is, in some respects, a repetition of history, and it is expected to generate suitable revenue for business owners. However, not everyone expects to earn more income as a result of the presence of these forces.

Earlier reports had been published about the “severe mental and psychological condition” of the crew of this carrier, which U.S. officials rejected.

The Abraham Lincoln was deployed for an attack on Iran and for a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz toward the Persian Gulf, and it has now anchored in Pattaya for the rest of its forces.
