A video released from the BRICS summit in New Delhi shows that several leaders present at this meeting, after taking a souvenir photo, each planted a sapling. Xi Jinping, President of China, and Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, were also present at this ceremony.

On Saturday, 21 Shahrivar, the BRICS countries group approved, by consensus, a joint statement in which it expressed “deep concern” about the war in the Middle East and called on the parties to exercise the utmost restraint. At this summit, Masoud Pezeshkian, head of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, are in attendance.

The BRICS group includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.
