🇺🇸🇮🇷 U.S.: Until obligations are met, none of the $6 billion in Iran’s assets will be released 💢 The Iranian government had requested in the negotiations that its frozen assets be received all at once, but the United States did not accept it. Washington plans to make the payments gradually and in stages, and the funds will also be paid directly to the sellers of goods, not to the Iranian government. 💢 The U.S. announced that so far, none of the $6 billion in Iran’s frozen assets—which were supposed to be released under the implementation of the understanding between the two countries—has been provided to Tehran. A U.S. government official told the New York Post that the release of these assets would only take place if the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfills the obligations set out in the understanding, and without meeting these conditions, no payment will be made. According to this U.S. official, the Iranian government had asked during the negotiations to receive the frozen assets all at once, but the U.S. refused. Washington intends to make payments gradually and in stages, and the funds will be paid directly to the sellers of goods, not to the Iranian government. These payments will be carried out alongside progress in different parts of the negotiations. 🔴
