Hosseini, spokesperson for the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exporters’ Union, has said that given the country’s energy shortage, schools and universities should be held mostly online in the new academic year.

He stressed that, at best, in-person instruction should take place only 1 to 2 days a week, with the remaining 3 to 4 days continuing virtually.

These remarks come as the energy shortage and the disruptions caused by it have affected the education schedules of students.
