〰❌ Crew members of the USS Abraham Lincoln received orders not to speak to reporters about worsening living conditions during their deployment in the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) area; the report was published by The Guardian.
The ship’s captain, Dan Keller, rejected much of the reporting and said that there is a “lack of coordination” between media coverage in the country and the conditions aboard the aircraft carrier. He admitted that, in the end, fresh fruit and vegetables were not available, and supplies such as soap and toothpaste had to be carefully portioned so that everyone received some.
Keller declined to comment on reports about his alleged suicide attempts due to an ongoing investigation.
In response to statements by President Trump that a 270-day deployment is “not enough,” he simply said: “The president speaks for himself.”
