The UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre has said it received a report of an incident involving a merchant vessel in the Gulf of Oman, adding that the ship was hit by the incident as part of ongoing military activities in the region.
The location of the targeted vessel in the east of the Strait of Hormuz, between the Musandam Governorate in Oman and Iran’s port of Jask, is shown.
So far, no report has been published about possible damage from the attack on this ship.
Meanwhile, Qatar has also reported that a fire aboard a merchant vessel targeted in the country’s Al Wakrah port has been brought under control, saying the incident caused no casualties.
In response to the United States’ attack on five Islamic Republic oil tankers, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had announced that it attacked U.S. military ships and vessels, including oil tankers.
