Tommy Pigott, a spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, said that Marco Rubio, the foreign minister of this country, and Faisal al-Shibani, Syria’s foreign minister, discussed matters related to regional security and increased cooperation between the two countries in a telephone call.

According to Pigott, the U.S. foreign minister emphasized the importance of continuing the process of integrating all Syrian minority groups.

As the U.S. State Department wrote, Pigott said Rubio also praised Syria’s progress in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
