The Wall Street Journal: Bahrain and Kuwait attacked targets in Iran with fighter jets

🔸The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reported that Bahrain and Kuwait earlier this month used their fighter jets covertly to attack military targets inside Iran.

🔸According to the report published on Friday, the second of Mordad, this is the first direct retaliatory attack by Bahrain and Kuwait against Iran during the ongoing war. Some sources told the newspaper that the storage facilities for drones and missiles, along with several other Iranian military facilities, were among the targets of these attacks.

🔸The Wall Street Journal also reported that the United Arab Emirates provided information on the targets to Bahrain and Kuwait and provided defensive air cover for their operations. The Emirates had previously, according to the same newspaper, attacked targets in Iran several times during the early stages of the war.

🔸So far, Bahrain and Kuwait have not publicly taken responsibility for the attack on Iran, and the Wall Street Journal report has not yet been rejected or confirmed by official sources.

🔸Unlike the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain have been the target of Iran’s missile and drone attacks in recent weeks. Iranian officials say that U.S. bases and military facilities in regional countries are targeted in response to U.S. attacks on Iranian soil.

🔸In recent days, Kuwait has announced that Iran’s attacks, in addition to military targets, also damaged some of the country’s power and water-desalination facilities. Bahrain has also repeatedly reported intercepting Iran’s air attacks.
