🔸Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, said on Wednesday to Fox News that airline companies, the shipping industry, and digital assets could be among the potential targets of new U.S. sanctions.

🔸In response to a question about Russia’s possible support for the Islamic Republic during the campaign to intensify economic pressure on Iran, he said: “My message to everyone is this: stay away. We all want this conflict to end, and the quickest way to do that is for nobody to support this regime.”

🔸Bessent, emphasizing that his department will cut off Iran’s connections with the outside world, added: “We have created new authorities for the Treasury Department to impose sanctions in the areas of aviation, maritime, and digital assets.”

🔸The U.S. Treasury Secretary went on to warn about Iran: “We tell friends and enemies: don’t do business with this evil regime. We know who you are. You also know who you are. And if we have to, we will shut down your operations.”
