Satellite images indicate the drifting of at least 20 empty Islamic Republic oil tankers in the waters of Sri Lanka due to their inability to return to Iranian ports.

The United States has resumed the Islamic Republic’s maritime blockade as of July 14 and does not allow any oil tanker associated with the ruling regime in Iran to enter or leave the area of the maritime blockade.

The organization “Coalition Against Nuclear Iran,” which is monitoring the movement of Iranian oil-shipping vessels together with tanker-tracking companies, says that since the start of the maritime blockade, the Islamic Republic has been able to pass five LPG gas cargoes—liquefied petroleum gas—through the blockade line using small tankers called “Hind Max,” but not a single ship carrying Iranian oil has been able to cross this line.

According to satellite images, at present at least 50 Iranian tankers with shipments of oil, condensate gas, and liquefied gas are stuck in the southern waters of the country, and at least 49 tankers that are members of the “Ghost Fleet” actively involved in the smuggling of Iranian oil have also anchored in Malaysia in the area of the “Eastern Outer Anchorage Limits.”
