Saeed Alavi, a member of the editorial board of Iran International, referring to the strike in Kurdish cities on the fourth anniversary of the killing of Mahsa Zhina Amini, said the strike shows that the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement remains alive in the collective memory of society and the will of resistance, despite security pressures.
He stressed that a strike alone does not change the government, but it can be part of a process that demonstrates society’s capacity and solidarity. According to Alavi, the spread of such strikes to other parts of Iran could be a sign of the formation of a more widespread will to protest.
