🔶 Russia Begins Returning Its Staff to Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant
Russia said it has begun returning its staff to the Bushehr nuclear power plant. RIA Novosti, citing Alexey Likhachev, the CEO of Rosatom, reported that the first six employees of the plant have started the process of returning to Bushehr.
Rosatom, which is responsible for building two new units at the Bushehr plant, had withdrawn hundreds of its staff from this plant after the start of the war between the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28.
The return of the first group of Russian employees is taking place as military tensions between Iran and the United States have increased again.
Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said on Friday that the agency is monitoring the status of the Bushehr nuclear power plant closely.
He said, after the latest round of talks between Rosatom and the Agency in Kaliningrad, that the Agency has not observed or confirmed a direct attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant so far, although attacks have occurred near it.
