Renewed fighting in the Middle East has disrupted India’s oil shipments and has forced at least two refineries to secure alternative, more costly shipments.
According to people familiar with the matter who spoke to Bloomberg, deliveries did not arrive as scheduled on time, and the state-run Bharat Petroleum had four shipments from the Persian Gulf that were not delivered as scheduled in Mordad.
Indian Oil has also seen changes to its delivery schedules. The sudden disruption to India’s refineries has forced them, in a short window, to seek other sources of crude oil.
