Pakistan’s government announced the killing of 75 “Baloch separatist insurgents” in a joint multi-day operation by the country’s army, border forces, and police.
The operation began on Monday, following an attack by an armed group on a police outpost in Quetta. In the ensuing clash, 9 police officers and 15 of the attackers were killed. The attackers also kidnapped 18 police officers, who, after retreating to the surrounding mountains, were found dead with their eyes covered and signs of bullet impacts.
In recent days, other attacks were also carried out by members of the “Baloch Liberation Army,” which in total led to the killing of 42 Pakistani military and police forces.
On Friday, Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister, during a trip to the city of Quetta, the capital of the Balochistan province, announced that the perpetrators of these attacks would be handed over to justice.
