No trace of Makan Nosiri, a student from Minab, was found—nothing.
His share from Iran remained without a grave.
In our hearts, #Kiyan_Pirfalak and #Makan_Nosiri went together, in grief, as oppressed figures. Innocent children of Iran—whose share from Iran was plundered—are all victims of one nation.
With one eye we mourn the people who died in Dey, and with the other we mourn the Makans—the most oppressed victims of this war.
If, throughout all these years, we were allowed to have just one wish, that single wish was for the blood of the people of Iran not to be shed—but alas, it did not happen; we could not. We didn’t have the power. There was nothing we could do. Even now, we cannot say why we were unable to do anything.
Always, deep in my heart, I had a spark of hope that maybe Iran’s work and my fellow countrymen would not be taken here. But it didn’t happen. And today morning we begin with the news of an execution, and we spend the day with harrowing news and watching harrowing videos—both the mourners of Dey and the mothers of Minab.
I have written here in the grief of many; from Nika and Sarina to countless others in Dey. We will not forget Makan’s eyes—just as we did not forget Nika’s eyes.
