🔻The National Basketball Association (NBA) has fined the Los Angeles Clippers $30 million for bypassing the salary caps in the Kawhi Leonard case. This is the largest fine in NBA history. According to investigations, the club committed a violation with the aim of helping its star obtain off-court income opportunities.

🔹In addition to the monetary fine, the Clippers were stripped of five first-round draft picks in the 2029 to 2033 drafts. Steve Ballmer, the club’s owner, and Gillian Zucker, the head of the business division, were each suspended for 12 months for providing misleading information.

🔹The 35-year-old Leonard, who joined the Clippers in 2019 and left the team earlier this year, was also fined $700,000.

🔹Leonard, who posted a message on Instagram, while accepting responsibility, announced that he did not intend to circumvent the rules.
