American singer Katy Perry criticized the White House’s use of the song “Firework” (Fireworks) in a video of the United States’ attack on targets in Iran and said that this use was carried out without her knowledge or consent. She added that she was deeply shocked and angry by the move.

On Thursday, the White House posted a video on its official TikTok account in which the section “boom, boom, boom” from the song “Firework” was synchronized with images of U.S. attacks on targets in southern Iran. In its caption for the video, the White House wrote: “Iran has been warned.”

On Saturday, Katy Perry wrote on X: “I’m deeply shocked and angry that the song 'Firework' has been used as background music for a video of military attacks on the White House’s TikTok account. I have not approved this use, I was not asked for permission, and in no way do I approve or support it.”
