🔶 Israel’s President: My Dream Is Peace with Saudi Arabia

President of Israel Isaac Herzog, in an interview with the Saudi Al Arabiya network, called for progress in the process of normalizing his country’s relations with Saudi Arabia.

According to Agence France-Presse, in the interview, published on Thursday, July 16, he said: “My dream is to see peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia. I have a lot of respect for the Crown Prince [of Saudi Arabia], Mohammed bin Salman.”

In the interview conducted in Jerusalem (Beit Al-Maqdis), Herzog added: “Our biggest desire in Israel is to see closeness and improved relations between these two peoples.”

In 2023, Saudi Arabia was carrying out initial talks to normalize relations with Israel, but after the start of the Hamas and Israel war in Gaza, it suddenly pulled back from these negotiations.

Agence France-Presse writes that during this war, which began after Hamas’s bloody attacks on Israeli territory, Arab world positions and views regarding Israel have become much harder and less conciliatory.
