The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that two oil tankers collided with mines a few hours ago, exploded and caught fire.

The IRGC public relations office claimed that the two vessels “had disembarked their crews with U.S. Army instigation and had been handed over to U.S. agents in order to pass via an unlawful route.”

The IRGC added that its naval force had previously warned about the dangers of passing through a mined passage.

The force threatened that “for maritime companies that, instead of taking the legal route, fall for America’s deception and hand their vessel over to the enemy, additional punishments are planned that will soon be carried out.”

The IRGC did not announce the names, flags, or locations of the two vessels. No independent source has confirmed this claim.
