The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic, in response to the expulsion of an Islamic Republic embassy official from Sweden, summoned the Swedish ambassador in Tehran and informed him that one of that country’s diplomats must leave Iran within 48 hours.

Yesterday, the Swedish government announced that it had summoned the ambassador of the Islamic Republic to its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and asked one of the officials at the Islamic Republic embassy to leave Swedish territory.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry said the activities of this embassy official were not consistent with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
