🔶 Iran summoned Germany’s ambassador in protest at this country’s policies
Iran says it has summoned Axel Wilhelm Dittmann, Germany’s ambassador in this country, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to what it called “inappropriate statements by senior German officials against Iran, as well as certain meddling actions by the German embassy in Tehran.”
According to ISNA, the German ambassador in Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Alireza Yousofi, Assistant Minister and Director-General for Western Europe, and the Islamic Republic’s objection was conveyed to him.
In this meeting, Yousofi called statements by Friedrich Merz, Germany’s chancellor, regarding Iran “unfounded claims,” and conveyed the Islamic Republic’s strong objection to Germany’s approach toward Iran and regional issues, emphasizing the need to reform it.
He criticized Germany’s military and political support for Israel and claimed: “The people of the region and the world consider the German governing establishment complicit in genocide and other crimes committed by Israel against Palestinians, as well as in other countries in the region.”
