🔻Iran’s Mission to the United Nations has written to Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the organization, saying: “Targeting and killing civilians, including children, violates the basic rules of international humanitarian law and constitutes a war crime.”

In the letter, Gholamhossein Dezfi, ambassador and deputy head of the Islamic Republic’s delegation, referring to the attacks by the United States on Tuesday (September 1), wrote that these attacks were “deliberate” against “civilians and civilian targets” in several cities in southern Iran.

Iran said that since the start of the current war in Esfand 1404 up to now, “the United States has repeatedly targeted civilians, civilian facilities, and vital infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, airports, residential areas, bridges, roads, and railway installations.”

According to reports by relief officials in Hormozgan, during the attack on Kuhestak, four people, including a child, were killed and more than 60 others were injured.

The United States has rejected any attack on civilians and said that its airstrikes on Tuesday night were aimed at the facilities and military bases of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
