Interview with Shahin Modarres; How far does China support the Islamic Republic against U.S. pressure?
🔸 On Wednesday, Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araqchi met in Beijing with Wang Yi, his Chinese counterpart. In the meeting, China’s foreign minister spoke about Beijing’s readiness to support what he called “Iran’s rights and legitimate interests,” and invited Tehran and Washington to restraint and a return to dialogue. The meeting comes as U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has said that the conflict with Iran over the coming months will enter a “completely different” phase, and that the focus of the next phase will be to prevent Iran from rebuilding its nuclear and military capabilities. Shahin Modarres, an expert in security studies and international relations in Italy, in an interview with Radio Farda first answered the question of how far China is willing to support Tehran in the face of U.S. pressures?
