Haaretz, citing Israeli defense officials:
With the escalation of tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic, differences in Washington’s and Tel Aviv’s strategic priorities have become apparent.
The United States has focused on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and protecting international shipping, while Israel views the nuclear program as the most significant threat and has expressed concern about the rebuilding of some of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Israeli officials have also assessed that neither the United States nor the Islamic Republic wants a full-scale war, and that both are trying to manage the level of tension.
